Providing for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Israel

Yohannes Bayu, an Ethiopian political refugee who arrived in Israel in 1997, opened the African Refugee Development Center (ARDC) in Tel Aviv to address Israel’s refugee humanitarian crisis. It was Yohannes’s personal experiences that led him begin this work in 2004.

Today, ARDC’s mostly volunteer staff offers asylum application assistance, a shelter for women with children and pregnant women who are victims of assault, and other humanitarian support.

Our donation was directed to meet several humanitarian needs. Some of the funds donated were donor-designated.
