Since 1991 Ranya Kelly has been retrieving perfectly good, new merchandise from some of our nation’s largest retailers and distributing it to people in need. A “green” project long before it became fashionable, the Denver-based Redistribution Center has rescued everything from food and clothing to electronics and office supplies, sending items to families helped by Colorado social service agencies as well as to other locations in the country.
Ranya also routinely sends packages to our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, and this past year she worked with us to deliver two 53-foot trailers filled with goods to McRoberts, Kentucky.
Without Ranya’s selfless efforts, more than $52,000,000 worth of goods would clog landfills. A former finalist for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society for Citizen Service Above Self, Ranya inspires everyone who knows her.
Our donations stock Ranya’s food pantry and offset gasoline, insurance and vehicle maintenance. Her all-volunteer-powered Redistribution Center works on a budget of less than $50,000 annually, an exceptional return on our investment.
