The Good People Fund Celebrates 18 Years of Impact and Honors Founder Naomi Eisenberger for 18 Years of Leadership

At an anniversary event in New Jersey, The Good People Fund will mark nearly two decades of investing in social visionaries in Israel and the United States

April 29, 2026 — The Good People Fund (GPF) will mark its 18th anniversary with a special gathering on May 17th, bringing together donors, grantees, and community partners to celebrate nearly two decades of social visionaries who have enriched their communities.

Founded in 2008, The Good People Fund has invested more than $39 million in over 250 emerging nonprofit initiatives in the US and Israel whose bold ideas, often sparked in moments of urgency, have grown into engines of social change.

The May 17th event builds upon a milestone gathering held in Israel earlier this year, reflecting GPF’s global reach and deeply personal approach to tzedakah. “Some of the organizations we now celebrate began as simple conversations — ideas shared without fanfare but full of purpose,” said Naomi Eisenberger, Founder of The Good People Fund. “We have always believed in the power of individuals to make a difference.”

On July 1st, Eisenberger will step down from her role as Founding Executive Director and welcome Incoming Executive Director, Julie Fisher, as she prepares to lead The Good People Fund into the future.

“I am thrilled to be leading The Good People Fund into its next chapter,” said Fisher. “At a time of so much rupture and uncertainty in the world, our work feels more essential than ever. We are investing in people, in relationships, and in the belief that one person truly can change the lives of many.”

Fisher continued, “Our model goes beyond traditional grantmaking. Built on trust and long-term relationships, GPF provides four pillars of support: early-stage funding, mentorship, community-building, and ongoing education and strategic guidance.”

Beth Gansky, Chair of The Good People Fund’s Board of Trustees, shared, “For 18 years, the Good People Fund has embraced a simple but powerful belief: find good people doing extraordinary acts of compassion and help them thrive through trust-based tzedakah and caring relationships. I have every confidence that Julie will continue to help GPF’s model grow and thrive and build on Naomi’s beautiful legacy.”

The May 17th event will highlight stories from grantees and partners across the US and Israel, illustrating the scope of GPF’s impact — from supporting families navigating illness, to empowering at-risk youth, to fostering dignity in moments of profound need. GPF was an early funder of several national organizations, including Leveling the Playing Field, I Support the Girls, Emma’s Torch, and Unchained at Last.

As The Good People Fund enters its next chapter of leadership and growth, it remains committed to identifying and supporting social visionaries whose work strengthens communities and expands possibilities for a more just world.
