Shutaf Inclusion Programs Hits 20th Year Milestone

    August 14, 2026

Good People Fund alum grantee Shutaf Inclusion Programs, co-founded by Beth Steinberg and Miriam Avraham, is celebrating its 20th summer of camp, a true shehecheyanu moment. Beth and Miriam didn’t set out to build an organization; they just wanted camp for their own children, Vinnie and Akiva, and for other kids, with and without disabilities. That dream has since touched more than 2,000 participants through Shutaf’s camps and year-round programs since 2007. This summer, Camp Shutaf welcomes 100 kids for three joyful, inclusive weeks in their brand new facility that we visited in February. We are proud to have stood behind Beth and Miriam, supporting their vision from the early days!

Bagel Rescue Featured in Atlanta Magazine

    August 14, 2026

Good People Fund grantee Bagel Rescue, founded by Erin Stieglitz, was featured in the July 2026 issue of Atlanta Magazine in a lovely profile, “Bagel Rescue is giving day-old bagels a ‘hole’ new purpose.” The piece traces Bagel Rescue’s origins to the pandemic, when Erin’s then nine-year-old son called a local bagel shop for day-old bagels to donate to frontline workers, a simple act of kindness that grew into a national movement. Today, more than 300 volunteers make weekly rounds across a dozen-plus Georgia counties, rescuing surplus bagels from 80-plus restaurant partners and delivering them to 150-plus food pantries and community organizations. Since launching in 2020, Bagel Rescue has rescued and delivered more than 4 million bagels, with plans now underway to expand into Florida, Texas, and Louisiana. Good People Fund is proud to support Erin’s vision, and we love watching this simple, delicious idea keep growing.

    Exploring Jewish Rituals for Mourning

    August 14, 2026

Good People Fund grantee Kavod v’Nichum, is by Executive Director Sarit Wishnevski who sat down with Miriam Anzovin (writer, artist, and social media personality) this past week for a moving conversation, “Always Sacred, Never Secret: Honoring Jewish Death Rituals with Sarit Wishnevski,” exploring the Jewish rituals and wisdom that guide us through dying, death, and mourning. Sarit’s work helping communities build and sustain Chevrei Kadisha (community groups that honor and care for the dead and the grieving) continues to bring comfort and meaning to families across the country, and we are proud to support her efforts to keep these sacred traditions alive.

Proof for the Power of Bridge Building

    August 14, 2026

Good People Fund grantee Rekindle Fellowship, cofounded by Matt Fieldman and Charmaine Rice, has released the results of a landmark independent evaluation, conducted by SSRS with 189 Fellows across 14 cities, that offers powerful evidence of their dedicated work building genuine relationships across racial and religious lines. Among Black Fellows, comfort serving as a bridge builder between Black and Jewish communities increased by 42 points; among Jewish Fellows, by 38 points. Black Fellows’ ability to have difficult conversations about antisemitism increased by 31 points, while Jewish Fellows’ ability to have difficult conversations about anti-Black racism increased by 32 points. And 80% of Rekindle Fellows reported forming a deep and meaningful relationship with someone they would never have met otherwise. This momentum was on full display in May, when Rekindle leadership joined more than 100 leaders in Miami for the first National Convening on the Black-Jewish Alliance held in over 25 years. Matt and Charmaine have built something truly extraordinary.
